Astrology V/s Numerology: Numerology is not Astrology

Numbers have a strong influence on astrology. Astrologers must always use numbers to perform astrological calculations. What is more important than the calculations is that horoscopes contain 12 houses, 27 asterisms, 12 zodiac signs, and 7 to 11 planets. Because there are numbers everywhere in astrology, and because most of these numbers or number sets are associated with specific traits, we can say that astrology is a subset of numerology!

You may have read in articles and books about numerology that numbers are influenced by planets, and each number is associated with a specific planet, such as number 1 being influenced by the Sun, number 2 being influenced by the Moon, and so on.

In reality, planets have no influence on numbers, and numerology has nothing to do with astrology. If you want to study numerology in depth,  keep this in mind at all times.

The number-planet relation theory is promoted by astrologers who practice numerology or numerologists who are influenced by astrology.

In this article, I will explain how numbers work, and how there is no relation between numbers and planets.

What is a Number?

So what is a Number?

A number is a mathematical value expressed by a word, figure, or symbol that is used for counting and calculating. Furthermore, a number can be an amount (such as one hundred, one million, etc.) or a position in order (such as first, second, third, etc.).

How Numbers Work?

Numbers have their own vibrations. Each person possesses many numbers, the most important of which are known as Core Numbers. These numbers are derived from the person’s date of birth and full name. All of these numbers are associated with the person. Each number has its own vibrations, and these vibrations influence a person’s behavior, way of thinking and reacting and other qualities.

Apart from the numbers derived from Date of Birth and Name, external numbers, such as house numbers, vehicle numbers, phone numbers, and the spouse’s Core Numbers, all have their own vibrations.

The six core numbers derived from the person’s birth date and name are assigned to him/her for his/her lifetime. Planets, on the other hand, are millions and billions of kilometers away. So it is illogical to claim that the planets influence our lives and numbers. In fact, we are influenced by our numbers rather than planets.

Many scientific studies at universities have shown that planets have no effect on human life. Although no such study is conducted on numbers, we can see the impact of numbers on human life.

Astrologers associate particular planets with particular numbers. This association is based on the importance of the planets rather than their order in our Solar System. For example, they give the Sun the number one because it is the most important planet (?) to astrologers. The Moon is assigned the number 2 because it is important to astrologers after the Sun.

Astrology is Unscientific and Illogical

Astrologers consider the Sun and Moon to be planets. The Sun, however, is a star, and the Moon is Earth’s natural satellite.

According to Indian astrology, there are nine planets. However, our solar system actually has eight planets. As previously stated, the Sun and Moon are not planets, but astrologers consider them to be so. Furthermore, Earth is not considered a planet by them. There are two fictitious planets, Rahu and Ketu, in their list of planets, but they do not include some planets that do exist in our Solar System.

In Modern Western Astrology, there are seven classical and four modern planets. Thus the number of planets increases to 11 here. As a result, there is no agreement on the number of planets in astrology.

Furthermore, ancient astrologers, both Eastern and Western, were unaware that the planets are massive objects made of matter, with incredible masses. They regarded them as Gods or demons! This is contrary to reality and science.

Planets are Gods in astrology

If the number of planets ranges from 7 to 11 in astrology, and the basic numbers in numerology are 9, it is illogical to associate a specific planet with a specific number.

The numbers in numerology are real, they are in order, they are universal and we have to use them frequently for counting and calculations. Our daily life is largely influenced by numbers as we use and watch numbers everywhere.

Although astrologers have associated planets with numbers, they have failed to associate Sun Signs and Moon Signs with numbers. That means their understanding of the planets’ influence on numbers is very superficial. They didn’t go very far with their number-plane theory.

Astrology Numerolgy: Astrology is influenced by Numbers!

When reading a numerology chart, no planets, zodiac signs, or houses are taken into account. Numerological calculations do not require an astrology horoscope. Numerology has its own chart, which contains no astrological elements because numerology is all about numbers.

However, numbers have a strong influence on astrology.

Numbers rule the universe -Pythagoras

Now I am coming to the last point.

Pythagoras was one of the greatest mathematicians, metaphysicians, and mystics of the ancient world. (c. 570 – c. 495 BC). His theorem is still being taught to students of mathematics. He was a great numerologist too! Modern Numerology is based on Pythagorean numerology.

Let us see what Pythagoras has to say about numbers:

“Numbers rule the universe!”

That is absolutely correct, because numbers are everywhere, and everything in the universe is related to a specific set of numbers. Let it be the number of stars in a galaxy or the number of galaxies in the universe, the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in an atom, or the number of genes in humans or any other living being. Distance, weight, length, and time are all measured in numbers. A book has a number of chapters, pages, lines, paragraphs, words, and characters. A year has a number of seasons, months, weeks, and days, and a day has a number of hours, an hour has a number of minutes, and so on.

We can’t imagine our lives without numbers! That is the influence of numbers on everything!
