What is the Life Path Number in Numerology?
Your numerology number chart shows many numbers. 6 of them are the most important numbers. These 6 most important numbers are known as Core Numbers. Within these 6 core numbers, your life path number is the most important.
The life path number is the single-digit total of all the digits in a full date of birth. (DDMMYYYY). In this article, at some places, I have mentioned this number as LPath number.
This number is the most important because with this number we can have a better idea of the general life journey of the person. With this number, we can know what type of life and career the person may or should choose.
LPath number is more about the life journey and less about the general characteristics of a person. However, this number should not be ignored while reading a person’s general characteristics. In other words, the life path number should be considered mainly for knowing the life journey of a person, and then to know his general characteristics.
How to Calculate Your Life Path Number?
The easiest method of calculating your LPath number is to add all the digits in the full date of birth and then reduce the total to a single-digit number.
For example, suppose your full date of birth is 10th December 1985. The calculation is as follows:
10.12.1985 =1+0+1+2+1+9+8+5= 27
Now you have to add the digits in the number 27 to reduce them to a single digit number. So 27=2+7=9
Thus 9 is your Life Path Number.
Advanced Method of Calculating Life Path Number
However, although adding all the numbers one by one and getting a single-digit number is the easiest method of calculating your LPath Number, I do not recommend this method. The simple reason is that your full date of birth has three groups, they are Date of Birth, Month of birth, and Year of birth.
If you separately calculate each group in a single digit number, you can get some additional facts about the date, which you will miss reading in the simple method. See the following example:
A person has his Date of birth as December 21st, 1983. In numbers, it is 21.12.1983. Now let us convert each group into a single-digit number separately.
Here you see that the number 3 is repeated in all three groups. Such repeating of a specific number has its meaning. If you calculate the LPath Number by using the easy method, obviously you will miss such advanced reading.
Do not miss to see if there are Master Numbers
In numerology, 11, 22, 33, etc. are known as master numbers. Master numbers have their distinct meanings. They are powerful and energetic. While calculating a Lpath number by using a simple method, you can miss such master numbers. See this example:
A person has his date of birth as February 29th 1984. In numbers, it is written as: 29.02.1984. Now if you use a simple method for calculating the life path number, you will calculate it as 2+9+0+2+1+9+8+4=35=3+5=8.
If you use an advanced method for the calculation, it is:
(2+9) + (0+2) + (1+9+8+4) = (11) + (2) + (22) = 35 = 3+5 =8. Here you get 2 master numbers in the chart, 11 (Birth Number) and 22 (Year Number). If you use a simple method for calculations, you miss these master numbers in the calculation.
When there is a master number in full date of birth, you should not reduce it to a single-digit number. Add the number as the master number only.
If the life path number itself is a master number, you should not reduce it to a single digit.
Moreover, you should remember that although generally, the life path number is in single digit, the double-digit total of the full date of birth also has some specific and different qualities. In the example given above, the life path number is 8, but the number 35 has some additional meanings.
Now you know the right method of calculating the life path number.
